I wondered what the subject was going to be for this month , but a Road Watch report that just came in caught my eye . The actions described by the sender of the report is one I have seen myself and was very concerned about it. Apparently the driver in question was traveling on a local stretch of busy Highway and was followed by the sender for about 15 kms. The driver passed every car he approached, at a high rate of speed, several times in the face of oncoming traffic, even forcing some onto the shoulder. When he had passed all of the cars in sight on his side of the road, he slowed down to close to the speed limit. Apparently he was not in a hurry but just wanted to be at the front of the line. I have seen something similar to this in my travels and always wonder about it as we are often stopped together at the next light. This kind of thing is very dangerous and makes no sense whatsoever. The report will be dealt with by Dufferin OPP .
Another thing I have noticed frequently is cars driving at night with only one headlight. Of course this is illegal and we wonder if the driver knows and is just not taking time to repair or has he not done a proper walk around inspection lately? On a country road this can be unnerving; is it a car with one light or a motorcycle and if a car , which side is the light out on? Please do your walk around before driving.
