We are funded by the Town of Mono as well as through corporate donations from local businesses.
Bimonthly meetings allow for feedback from our committee members, individual residents, and the OPP Community Policing Officer. Meetings are informal and all members of our community are welcome to attend. Please try us for a night and allow us to address and resolve any issue(s) which you feel would benefit our community, be it social, traffic or criminal in nature.
The Ontario Provincial Police believes in being an integral part of our community. They recognize that working more closely with us – the people who live in, work in and visit our town – has significant benefits for all involved. By including us as active partners, the OPP can reduce repeat calls through problem solving and deal with the underlying problems – not just the incidents.
The programs available to use – ROAD WATCH, Neighbourhood Watch, D.A.R.E., Block Parents, School Crime Prevention Education and Personal Safety & Protection – can all be implemented through an active community policing group.
