A community based program, established in the counties of Simcoe, Dufferin and Muskoka. This is a non-profit corporation that assists the community and police organizations in solving and preventing criminal activity. Concerned citizens are encouraged to contact CRIME STOPPERS anonymously with any information they may have regarding unwanted activity.
NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH is
a program aimed at reducing crime in the community,
through the active participation of citizens in crime prevention. It involves getting to
know one's neighbours and working together
to combat crime in your area the most effective way - before it starts.
D.A.R.E. is a 17 week program taught by uniformed police officers in the classroom. It teaches children how to resist drugs and violence and gives them the self esteem they need to succeed. D.A.R.E. has a remarkable record of success.
COMMUNITY POLICING
The people and Police working together towards identifying and addressing community concerns, whether they be criminal, traffic or social in nature.
Assigning an officer to work with the
community creates a better understanding of local concerns.
A committee comprised of members of the community assist the Police in
identifying your concerns.
The only criteria in becoming a member is that you care about the community.
Community Policing will only work if we all participate. Your ideas, concerns and suggestions are needed.
